Biography

I was introduced to the world of modeling in 1983. Working in a Men’s Boutique in London’s Covent Garden, it was suggested I meet two young women, former models, who’d opened a new agency for the new unusual looks that seemed to be invading the industry along with new designers, moving away from the Hero looks of the late 1970’s, big brawny dudes with mustaches….a change was coming!

Within a few months, I had managed to garner enough attention and my agent Ziggy suggested we visit Paris together to meet people before the shows. As if a sign of the times, and a mirror of today, Ziggy suggested I don’t say I was a model. My first visit to Paris and I did two shows, and acquired a new French agency…Jean Paul Gaultier(for whom I would go on to do more 20 fashion shows) and Yoshi Yamamoto. Print work followed, a lot of it. I visited Milan, I shot a  great deal of editorial there. L’Uomo Vogue, Per Lui and so many others I cannot recall. I traveled a lot as well. Budgets were good and with L’Uomo Vogue I want to South America, North Africa, The Seychelles and all over Europe. Soon I was shooting advertising and TV commercials…My first trip to the US was in 1984, to Miami for the International Wool Secretariat with the fabulous renegade director Jean Bastitse Mondino. Life was crazy and exciting…I was working with the top teams and designers. The level of creative photography then was outstanding, film of course…and a trip to Japan in 1985 took me to Tokyo for 10 days. Japan was impressive, I made attempts to return, so in Spring of 1986 I signed a two month contract and returned to great success in Japan. My life was never to return to what it had been.

I stayed in Asia, I traveled in Thailand, and Hong Kong and then later than same year, following friends I’d made in Tokyo I traveled to NYC. I have lived here ever since.

My career on camera, has now lasted 45 years. During the years I have drifted from modeling. I am nan actor with many short films.

I have been a DJ and played worldwide, as far in terms of travel as I did as model, eventually creating music for the shows I had formerly walked in, and then traded in records and headphones for a camera, leading to a published 25+ years as a fashion photographer.

I juggle all of my careers now….Model, Actor and Photographer.
